Following the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology's (MIIT) filing, more information has been revealed about the new BYD Xia ( pictures | specs | price inquiry ). Possibly named the "Xia PRO," the model features a 36.628 kWh battery pack and a range of 160 kilometers (test conditions unknown). Based on the currently available BYD Xia, the model is positioned as a plug-in hybrid mid-to-large MPV, offering two CLTC pure electric range options of 100 kilometers and 180 kilometers.
According to the latest model information released, the Amoi model is equipped with a lithium iron phosphate battery pack with a capacity of 36.628 kWh, a pure electric range of 160 kilometers (test conditions are unknown),
a curb weight of 2,650 kg, and fuel consumption of 6.1 liters per 100 kilometers. Combined with previous information filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology,
the Amoi model continues to be equipped with the DM-i plug-in hybrid system consisting of a 1.5T engine and an electric motor. The engine has a maximum power of 115 kW, and the drive motor has a maximum power of 200 kW.
According to previously leaked images filed with the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Xiaxin model largely retains the design style of the current model, with an optional roof-mounted LiDAR.It's expected to be equipped with the "Eye of God B" (Laser Driver Assistance Edition) and the nameplate may be changed to "Xia PRO."
For reference, the current BYD Xia lineup is equipped with the "Eye of God C" (Tri-Camera Driver Assistance Edition), which lacks the LiDAR and only supports high-speed navigation.
